Bump, Set, Spike!

North Clackamas Parks and Recreation District has teamed up with ​the North Clackamas Volleyball Club (NCVBC) to offer NCPRD’s new recreational youth volleyball program for boys and girls grades K-8 this fall. The goal of this program is to introduce players to the sport of volleyball, teach them proper form and fundamentals through age-appropriate drills and games, and get them excited about continuing to play and improve!
 

REGISTER
online by selecting your child's grade level for the 2014-15 school year and practice day/time or coach (if a coach has been determined) from the list of program offerings. A late fee of $10 will be added to registrations completed after August 31st.


Kindy/Grades 1-2
Easy drills and fun skill building games will be run in an hour practice once a week on Sundays for the first three weeks of the season. The remaining four weeks, teams will run a shortened practice followed by match play against another team. Modified court size, net height and rules used to introduce boys and girls to the sport, teach beginning fundamentals and get them excited about playing volleyball. T-shirt included.

Fee: resident, $70 non-resident, $80
Location: Verne Duncan Elementary or Rock Creek Middle School
Dates: Sundays between 1-5 p.m. 9/28-11/9


Grades 3-4
Players will focus on building fundamental skills through active drills and games. Teams will practice one night a week with matches on Saturdays. Match play will use modified court size, net height and rules appropriate to this age level to keep games fun and rewarding for the players. T-shirt included.

Fee: resident, $85 non-resident, $95
Location: Verne Duncan Elementary or Rock Creek Middle School 
Dates: 9/22-11/15

Games begin Saturday, October 4th



Grades 5-6/Grades 7-8
Players will learn more advanced skills and continue to build on the fundamentals of the game. Teams will practice one night a week with matches on Saturdays. An all day tournament will be held the last Saturday of the season to showcase teamwork and skills learned. T-shirt included.

Fee: resident, $95 non-resident, $105

Dates: 9/22-11/15 
Games begin Saturday, October 4th
All Day Tournament: Saturday, November 15th


Volunteer Coaches Needed
NCPRD depends on parent volunteers to run successful youth programs. Volunteer coaches are provided basic skills training necessary to instruct program participants. All volunteers are required to pass a background check.
