League Rules

Scoring
Play the best of 3 sets, no-ad scoring, with a Coman tiebreaker in lieu the third set (first to 10 points by a margin of 2).  Since a maximum time of 1.5 hours is enforced, players are expected to arrive on time and keep warm-up to a minimum.  USTA penalties for lateness will apply.  If time expires before a match is complete, players will be asked to submit a scorecard with the score up until that point.  Out of courtesy, turn off cell phones so that match play is not interrupted.

Points
Earn 3 points for a straight set win, 2 points for a match tiebreaker win and 1 point for a match tiebreaker loss.  League champions are eligible to move up to the next level while last place finishers will be required to move down one level.

Make-up Matches
If you are unable to make a match, do not "no show" on your opponent.  You must contact your opponent at least one day in advance to reschedule.  Once both opponents confirm, call the tennis center to cancel your original court as well as reserve a court for the rescheduled match.  Due to limited court availability during prime time, rescheduled matches are not permitted to play weeknights between 7:00 - 8:30 pm.  If you fail to complete a match within six days after originally scheduled, you will be defaulted and your opponent will be awarded 3 points.  If neither player informs the tennis center in advance that a league match will not play, a double default will be given to both players.  Neither player will be awarded any points.  No additional opportunity will be given to make up the match.

Float Matches
Players are responsible for scheduling and playing float matches outside normal league night.  Float matches are to be completed no later than the date specified on the schedule.  Once both opponents confirm, call the tennis center to reserve a court.  Due to limited court availability during prime time, rescheduled matches are not permitted to play weeknights between 7:00 - 8:30 pm.

Rainouts
Our weather line is updated during inclement weather days.  Call 972-466-6389 (option 1) one hour prior to your league as to the status of your match.  In case of a rainout, players are to reschedule and complete matches before the next scheduled match.  Once both opponents confirm, call the tennis center to reserve a court.
