El Dorado Youth Soccer League

EDYSL is always looking for referees for our Club games. Refereeing is a great way to make a little extra money, get some exercise, and help the club. You have to be 12 years old and take the referee certification class. We especially need ADULT REFEREES!

New Referee Training
Referees must attend a training class to become a Certified Referee. The class is a 16 hour class that is typically held on 4 evenings and a 2 hour field session. EDYSL sponsors classes every year. Each class is open to first 35 people to register. Go to EDYSL's class registration page and sign up for an entry level referee class that is scheduled for this year.

To become a Referee you must:
1)    Be a minimum of 12 years of age and in the 7th grade.
2)    You must attend all 4 evening classes and 1 field class for an Entry Level Referee Clinic.
3)    You must be willing to study the "Laws of the Game" outside of the class.
4)    You must pass (75%) a 100 question entry level examination.
Prior knowledge of Soccer is useful but not necessary. Youths and adults are paid for games that they referee.

Referees are required to wear an official referee uniform when refereeing a game. The purchase and cost of this uniform is the responsibility of the referee.

Returning Referee Information
If you have not renewed your certification this year and received your new referee patch, please visit the renewal link at: www.cnra.net. Remember, you must register every year.  The 2013 renewal cost is $45.

Returning Referee Refresher training is being mandated as a requirement by EDYSL this year. All returning referees will need to attend a refresher course. The course is free of charge. Go to EDYSL's class registration page and sign up for a referee refresher class that is scheduled for this year. The following classes are currently scheduled:
