Travel Soccer

General

FRSA sponsors several Travel teams to the Old Dominion Soccer League each season.  The ODSL travel program begins with U9.

Travel soccer is significantly more competitive than Recreational soccer, as such, it is recommended for highly skilled players that need a greater challenge.

For Parents

Parents should be aware when signing their child up to play on a travel team that Travel games could be scheduled in a variety of locations not only in the Shenandoah Valley, but as far away as Springfield, VA.

Also, the cost for travel soccer tends to be significantly higher than for rec, because the league fees associated with travel leagues are higher than the fees for rec players, and the coach may have to rent practice space, and pay for uniforms out of that fee.

Finally, parents should be aware that the competitive nature of travel soccer means that some players may not get to play often, nor is there any requirement that the coach play a player.

For Coaches

Any coach wishing to have a team sponsored by FRSA MUST contact the Travel Commissioner, Nick Crettier, nick@nickcrettier.com,  who will present your case to the FRSA board for approval.
