Important Calendar Dates
Jul 3 – Online registration opens. $80
Aug 2 – Registration closes - Wait list only; Additional $60 if added to a team (Fee $140)
Aug 4 – Evaluations for 8u, 10u, 12u, 14u at Livermore Field 1.
Aug 11 – Team assignments will be announced on the FSC website.
Aug 13 – First day of school in Folsom.
Aug 15 – Practice begins
Aug 26 – First games
Sept 2 - Labor day weekend. No games
Sept 9 - Games resume
Oct 28 – End of season tournament. Season ends.
Master Program Plan
A "Master Program" is the Folsom softball plan for the year. This includes first time 6u players to 18u Folsom Freedom competitive players. The 2012 plan is here.
Age Divisions (2005 to 1997 birth years)
The division that your child will play in depends on her age as of January 1st (birth year). You will notice there are overlapping age divisions in Fall. A player may move or up or down a division depending on where they fit best with the other players and where they will have the most fun.
6U Division = No 6U division in Fall (Note: birth year 2005 can play 8U in Fall)
8U Division = players with birth years 2003-2005
10U Division = players with birth years 2001-2003
12U Division = players with birth years 1999-2001
14U Division = players with birth years 1997-1999:
Survey Feedback
Your feedback is important to us. We use your feedback to continue to improve our program such as better uniforms, more games, improved rules, and better value for your registration fees. We send a survey to collect your feedback after each season. Thanks for letting us know how we are doing.
Registration Eligibility
Online registration opens on Jul 3rd. Fall is open to Folsom residents or non-residents who played in the Folsom Spring season. If you live in Folsom and want to try softball for the first time, WELCOME! Fall is a great time to try softball as it is low cost and a lot of fun.
Registration Cost
For 2012 the Fall registration fee will be only $80. Fall is a low cost, low key season. We don't hold opening or closing ceremonies, no pictures, and we go with a simple uniform (jersey only) to keep costs down. Because the cost is at a mimimum the early registraion and sibling discounts are offered during Spring only. Players will receive a uniform jersey for the Fall season (no names or sponsors on the jersey). Individual teams may decide on sock choice (crazy socks, star socks, tie-dyed socks, etc.) at their own cost. All players wear navy blue pants (purchased separately). The front of the jersey will have the Folsom Fastpitch logo. The back of the jersey will have number (you can requst a number in Fall). All players must purchase NAVY pants and socks separately. Navy pants are available at several Folsom sporting good stores.
When you register online you will need to select:
Jersey size: YS (Youth Small), YM (Youth Medium), YL (Youth Large), AS (Adult Small), AM (Adult Medium), AL (Adult Large), AXL (Adult XL).
Jersey Number: You can request a first and second choice number for your jersey. We will try to honor your request, but we can't guarantee you will get it. We will try.
Games under the lights.
For Fall many of the teams have an opportunity to play under the lights. It's always a lot of fun.
Improved Local Rules
During the off season the "Rules Committee" along with our Umpire-In-Chief review feedback from the coaches and work to improve the rules each season. Coaches should review the current rules and note the changes from Spring.
Umpires
We continue to build our junior ASA umpire program this year (6th grade and older). Experienced ASA umpires will train our junior umpires, as well as umpire games for the older divisions. Our umpires continue to improve each season based on the coaches feedback.
Refund Policy
If you find you cannot play after registering we will offer the following refund policy. You will receive a 100% refund up to Aug 2nd. From Aug 3rd through Aug 26th a 50% refund will be offered. No refunds will be offered after Aug 26th.
