Jim is the longest continuing team manager in NABA history. Beginning in the Spring of 1987, Heals has put a team on the field for 34 consecutive season. Also organizing and managing over 30 NABA tournaments teams. These teams have won the World Championship in 1998, were World Championship Runner-ups in 1999, 2000, 2003 and countless National Tournament victories and championships were earned along the way. This co-owner of Berry's Athletic Supply in San Diego, has helped many teams and players, as well as, high school teams with equipment and uniforms. Jim has been a valued staff member and commissioner in the NABA's San Diego Adult Baseball League for the past 8 years.

Fittingly, Jim was elected as a member of the NABA Hall of Fame in 2004

Through Jim's hard work, dedication and inspiration, the NABA developed and maintained the Orange County NABA League since 1993. Jim's commitment and support to has helped NABA to establish some of the largest adult baseball tournaments in the world for baseball players to continue to play the game they love.
 
Thanks to Jim, thousands of players in Orange County, California have the opportunity to play the national pastime in well organized, competitive recreational baseball leagues.
 
Fittingly, Jim was elected as a member of the NABA Hall of Fame in the year 2004.
