District 6 Ernie Hazeltine SoccerFest

The weather is great-- so we are all set for a fun day of soccer Saturday!
-U8-U10 Games are 20 minutes long.  At 10 minute mark, ref should blow whistle for a one minute break.  Teams can swap sides or just stay the same.
For U12-14 games, they are 30 minutes long, with the break at 15 minutes.
*The only exception is our 3-team group (U14 Boys 1) which will be playing full games, and our 4-team groups (U14 Boys 2 and U12 Girls 1)-- they will be playing 40 minute games, 20-minute halves with a 5-minute break).
-Substitutions can be done on any stoppage.
-The center ref will be from the team assigned on the schedule.  The teams playing can help call in-and-out on their touch line.
-Play by your league's soccer rules.  Most U8 leagues don't call off-sides.  If your league does, and the others don't, I would not call offsides.  Also at U8, some leagues have all indirect kicks-- no direct kicks.
The center ref on the U10-14 games should just use his/her judgement for offsides.
-The host or the coach-referee should check in all teams before their first game.  Some leagues don't have player passes for U8, so coaches have been instructed to bring their rosters.  No guest players allowed.
-No scores are kept!  Remember, this is for FUN.  There are no standings, no group winner.  All of the kids will receive a medal.
Have fun and enjoy the day!

Soccerfest Coordinator
