Grand Prairie YMCA

At the Y, sports and recreational activities are something special. Friendly competition (even with yourself), lots of variety and a supportive environment means team sports and recreation is fun again, and it makes for a healthier lifestyle and a good story or two.

Flag Football Schedule Adjustments
Updated date: Tuesday, October 21, 2014 1:03 PM

Per Kendell's e-mail to your coach, we have updated the flag football schedule.

Most of the season has not changed at all but you will see that both Division A & B (6 yrs & under) now have Saturday (10/25) off.  The season will begin in those age divisions the following Saturday (11/1) and will end with everyone else on December 13th.

One Division D game was moved to an earlier time on 10/25.

Due to moving the originally scheduled 10/25 games for Division A & B, there have been some minor time adjustments to the 12/13 tournament schedule as well.

As always, please be sure to consult with www/ to ensure that your team is playing when you believe that they are playing.

11-13 Yr Soccer Makeup & Tourney Schedules Posted
Updated date: Monday, October 20, 2014 11:30 AM

We have received final approval from the City of GP for our requests.  We will play the make-up matches on Friday (10/24), the 4v5 Tournament match on Saturday (10/25), semi-finals on Monday (10/27) and championship match on Wednesday (10/29) as I announced to everyone last weekend.

I understand that this is not ideal but we can only schedule matches when we have access to fields in combination with staff to referee.

As always, you should consult the actual posted schedule found on this website.  The 'link' is on the left side of the main page.

Thanks in advance for your understanding and cooperation.

Only Two Coaches Permitted In The Bench Area
Updated date: Saturday, October 18, 2014 7:11 AM

Only two adults are permitted in the bench area. All adults in the bench area are also required to have a completed Volunteer Application on file with the YMCA. This policy is in place to better ensure the safety of your child.

Any adult, other than the two coaches, should be seated on the opposite side of the field from each bench area.

As an additional reminder, there should be no adults or siblings located behind the goals for any other reason than taking photos.

The YMCA Referee has full authority to request any individual located behind the goal to relocate to the appropriate side of the field if they are considered to be impacting the match.
