NEW FOR 2014

GOLD Teams:
At the ASA National Council, new legislation was passed regarding the GOLD program. The major change was the addition of the GOLD program in the 16u division. This combined with some small changes that occurred last year, have resulted in a revamp of the ASA GOLD program. Please read the information below regarding the new GOLD Procedures. Click here fore more info.

Electronic Background Check Consents:
Leagues/Teams may now use an electronic consent process for background check consents. The League/Team admin will upload the spreadsheet of coaches into RegisterASA and then once payment is received by ASA, a Welcome Email will get sent out to all the email addresses on file. Each coach is responsible for clicking on the link in the email, verifying their information, then clicking the consent button. The League/Team admin will need to monitor their progress through RegisterASA.    Instructions for coaches.      Instructions for Team Admins.

Considered one of the Big 5 of the National Tournaments handed out by the Amateur Softball Association (ASA) Sacramento was up against some formidable competition in the voting for the ASA/USA 12 A National Championships. Due to the way votes are calculated, and the Country is divided by ASA, the majority of votes are held in the East and South Territories. Given those circumstances it is very difficult to land an ASA/USA National Championship on the West Coast.

It had been since 2005 that Sacramento ASA has had its turn to bid on a USA/ASA National Championship. At that time Sacramento was up against Montgomery, Alabama which has one of the finest softball facilities in the Country and provides an outstanding breakfast for all the Council Members on the day of the vote. At that time Sacramento won the tournament by 1 vote! The tournament was the ASA/USA 12 A National Championship. As it turned out, we were bidding for that same event in 2013. Read More.
