2025 Summer Track & Field - Summer 2025
Mansfield Recreation is excited to offer a new summer season track and field program for Mansfield residents in grades 1 through 8.
Participants will be introduced to track and field events at the basic and age-appropriate level, receive instruction on proper form and technique, and focus on building strength and stamina under the direction of experienced coaches and former collegiate track athletes. Practices will be held Tuesday and Thursday evenings, weather dependent, May 12th through July 31st. Enrollment includes registration fees for two track meets to be held in July with other local recreational track programs. (Dates TBD.)
Program objectives:
- Develop strong bodies, strong minds, self-discipline, and positive self-esteem.
- Develop good sportsmanship by promoting friendship and fair play.
- Motivate youth athletes to improve their academic achievement.
- Promote healthy competition by establishing a well-organized program with clear rules.
Divisions:
- 1st & 2nd Grade
- 3rd & 4th Grade
- 5th & 6th Grade
- 7th & 8th Grade
Equipment:
Participants are required to wear running shoes/sneakers and comfortable athletic wear. A jersey and water bottle will be provided.
Volunteer coaches are needed.
