Where are tennis classes and tennis tournament held?

Albany Tennis Club, 1423 SW 27th St, Albany 97321

 

Do I need to have a racquet for the tennis lesson?

We will let you barrow one of our racquets upon request.

 

What night are the lessons on?

Kid’s classes are on Tuesdays and Thursdays (5:30 and 7 pm)

Adult classes are on Mondays and Wednesdays (6 pm)

 

How many classes per session?

There are 6 classes (2 per week) for kids and 5 classes (2 per week) for adults.

 

What are the age ranges?

The age range is from 9 years old and up.

 

What are the class levels?

Beginning through advanced.  If you have questions about what class you should be in, call Jay Clark (541-730-5994), the class instructor.

 

How do I register for the tennis classes, camp or tournament?

You can call 541-917-7777 or mail/go into Albany Parks and Recreation at 333 Broadalbin St, Albany, Or 97321.

 

How do I pay for tennis classes, camp or tournament?

Fees may be paid over the phone with a debit or credit card at 541-917-7777 ext. 0 or send/taken check/cash to Albany Parks and Recreation at 333 Broadalbin St, Albany OR 97321.

 

What is Tennis Camp?

Tennis camp is Monday through Friday from 2 – 5.  It is recommended for people age 12 and up.  We recommend that you have either taken one of our class or played high school tennis.  15 hours in one week is a lot of tennis for someone just starting out.  If you have any questions, please call Jay Clark.

 

What is the Tennis Tournament?

It’s always the first weekend in August (Friday – Sunday).  I try not to schedule matches on Friday unless the draw gets to large.  If you can’t play on Friday, please email me.  Divisions are Men’s and Women singles, doubles and mixed doubles (Open 4.5 and up, A 4.0, B 3.5, C 3.0 and below); Boys and Girls singles, doubles and mixed (12/under, 14/under, 16/under, 18/under).  Prices are $12 for doubles, $15 for junior singles, and $17 for adult singles.  It’s played at the Albany Tennis Club, 1423 SW 27th St.  Matches can start as early as 8 am and last matches are usually scheduled around 6 pm.

 

How do I get my match times for the tennis tournament?

Go to www.albanyparksandrecreation.org/sports after 1 pm on Wednesday the week of the tournament.
