2026 Spring Community League - Spring 2026

Riverside Hawks Community League

The Riverside Hawks Community League is back this spring, providing a safe, structured, and competitive basketball environment for youth across Harlem, Washington Heights, and the Bronx.

Start Date: Every Thursday and Friday starting (April 16 - June 25, 2026)
Game Times: Between 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM
Location: Riverside Church Stone Gym 84 Claremont Avenue, New York, NY

This program is fully funded and sponsored by DYCD NYC, ensuring equitable access for all participants.

2026 Summer Basketball Camp - Summer 2026

Summer Camp 2026

Join us for an unforgettable summer of basketball, skill development, and team-building at the Riverside Hawks Summer Basketball Camp! Designed for young athletes of all skill levels, our camp blends athletic training with personal growth.

Camp Highlights:

• Skill Development: Improve dribbling, shooting, passing, and defense through dynamic drills.
• Team Play: Build basketball IQ and teamwork with scrimmages and competitive games.
• Elite Coaching: Learn from experienced coaches dedicated to your growth.
• Fun & Community: Participate in team-building activities and friendly competitions.
• Health & Wellness: Daily warm-ups, injury prevention, and healthy lifestyle tips.

Weekly Focus:

• Week 1 (July 6 - July 10): Fundamentals & Skill Development
• Week 2 (July 13 - July 17): Offensive Moves & Advanced Skills
• Week 3 (July 20 - July 24): Teamwork, Communication & Basketball IQ
• Week 4 (July 27 - July 31): Game Strategy & Refining Skills

Camp Details:

• Location: Riverside Church Gym, Upper Manhattan
• Ages: 6-12
• Camp Hours: 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM (early arrival between 8:30AM -8:45AM)
• Registration Fee: $250 per week (includes camp t-shirt) DOES NOT INCLUDE LUNCH OR SNACKS

2026 Spring Hawks In Training - Spring 2026

"Hawks in Training" (H.I.T.) is an exciting program designed by the Riverside Hawks staff, tailored specifically for boys and girls aged 4 to 9. This dynamic program offers more than just basketball instruction; it's a gateway to mastering the essentials of the game, where experienced coaches emphasize the fundamentals of basketball while fostering a spirit of teamwork and sportsmanship.

At H.I.T., we believe in nurturing young talents by providing a perfect blend of fun and learning. Our sessions span ten weeks, packed with engaging and age-appropriate activities, ensuring that each child gets a comprehensive introduction to the world of basketball. But it's not just about the sport; we're dedicated to helping our young athletes develop important life skills that will benefit them on and off the court.

As a token of our appreciation and to keep those wonderful memories alive, each participant receives special souvenirs, including a trophy, a jersey, and a bag. These keepsakes are more than just items; they're a celebration of the journey and progress each child makes in our program.

Saturday Night Lights - Annual 2025

Saturday Night Lights (SNL) offers world-class basketball training in a safe, structured environment for youth ages 11–18, right here at Riverside Church.

Our mission is to engage young people through sport, mentorship, and community — creating a positive alternative on Saturday evenings.

Weekly Schedule:
- Ages 11–13: Saturdays, 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM (Main Gym located at 91 Claremont Avenue)
- Ages 14–18: Saturdays, 7:00 PM – 9:00 PM (Main Gym located at 91 Claremont Avenue)

2026 DYCD Boys Middle School League - Spring 2026

THE DYCD MIDDLE SCHOOL LEAGUE

The Manhattan Borough League is a free, structured competitive basketball league for boys and girls in Grades 6–8, featuring certified officials, regular season games, playoffs, and borough-wide championships. Hosted at Riverside Church, the league provides student-athletes with organized team play, skill development, and a high-level competitive experience at no cost to families. This program is proudly sponsored by the New York City Department of Youth and Community Development (DYCD) in partnership with Riverside Hawks, helping expand access to quality youth sports opportunities across Manhattan.

MANHATTAN BOROUGH LEAGUE
Grades 6–8 | Starts March 19

Lady Hawks in Training is a FREE girls basketball development program offered by Riverside Hawks in partnership with NYC DYCD (Department of Youth & Community Development). The program is led by Riverside Hawks coaches and focuses on helping young players build fundamentals, confidence, and love for the game in a fun and supportive environment.

This registration is for Session 3 (Saturdays) running April 11 - May 9. Please register for only one session. If you would like to register for multiple sessions, email us at riversidehawksnycgirls@gmail.com

• Structured skills and competitive play
• Controlled scrimmages and game play

Sunday Night Alumni Hoops - Annual 2025

Time: 7:30–8:30 p.m.
Sunday Night Alumni Hoops brings former Hawks players and community alumni back to the court for competitive runs, reconnection, and camaraderie. This free weekly program offers a structured space for alumni to stay active, network, and remain connected to the Riverside Hawks family. It is supported by donations that help us continue providing meaningful opportunities for community engagement and lifelong wellness.

Sunday Night Community Hoops - Annual 2025

Time: 5:30–7:00 p.m.
Sunday Night Community Hoops offers open runs, skills development, and structured basketball sessions for youth and community members. This free program provides a safe, energetic, and positive environment where players can build confidence, sharpen fundamentals, and stay active through high-quality coaching. It is made possible through the generosity of our donors and supporters who believe in investing in our neighborhood’s young people.
