A game should be canceled when it is known a team cannot be fielded. (This means <5 players.) If a game is canceled before 5:00 PM on the Monday preceding the game, then it is eligible to be re-scheduled. The suggestion for the re-schedule can occur later but must be completed within 2 weeks of the cancellation. Otherwise, the game is scored as a forfeit.
A canceled game is scored as a forfeit. If the game is eligible for re-schedule and is re-scheduled within two weeks, then the forfeit is removed. If both teams ask for the re-schedule, then the game is scored as a double forfeit.
Identify the game using Division, Requesting Team, Other Team, and Date or Game Number. This information is needed for the cancellation or the suggestion for a re-schedule.
If you are canceling a game, provide the reason for the requested cancellation.
You can provide guidance on where to move the game using the three suggestions and/or Other Information. Please check with the opposing coach before making suggestions.
Potential locations for the game can be found in the message preceding the schedule for the division. Information on gyms vs grade/gender can be found under Site Uses under Location Info and under Sites vs Uses under Tools for Game Changes.
Open times can be found under Unused Volleyball Times under Location Info.
When suggesting re-schedules for games please:
** Try to fill in existing holes
** Try to avoid introducing a hole into the schedule
The contacts on file for the two teams will receive an email with re-schedule information. The scheduler will confirm availability with the Lay Director as needed.
