Team Formation 101 - How we create teams

All teams are created using the following guidelines:

  1. Create teams that are as evenly skilled as possible in each division using ratings by parents, coaches, and team formation practice where applicable
  2. Coaches' kids will always be on the team with their parent that is coaching
  3. Siblings will always be on the same team if they play in the same division
  4. Keep kids from similar schools on the same team as much as possible
  5. Accommodate requests to play on the same team as a friend for select divisions
  6. Other requests to be on teams are evaluated on a case by case basis

Team Formation Process

The following Divisions have teams put together by the ZLL Board

  • Tee Ball
  • Coach Pitch
  • Advanced Coach Pitch
  • A-Baseball
  • Minors Softball
  • Majors Softball

The following Divisions have teams put together by coaches drafting players to be on their team

  • AA-Baseball
  • AAA-Baseball
  • Majors Baseball
