What are the age divisions? 

VASA Soccer is a co-ed, recreational soccer program for 4U-6U. All games will be VA vs VA teams. 

The age divisions are as follows; 

 4U- birth year 2021 

5U- birth year 2020 

6U- birth year 2019 

Players can request to play up 1 age division subject to parent and commissioner approval. Players will not be permitted to play down an age division for any reason. Depending on enrollment, 5U and 6U teams may play each other. 4U teams will only play other 4U teams. 

When and where are games? 

All games are tentatively scheduled to be played on Saturdays at Forrest Moore Park in the outfield of the South baseball field. The address is 1890 Waco St. Van Alstyne, TX. 75495 

When does the season start? 

Practices will begin the last week of August with games beginning September 6th and running through the first weekend of November. Practice days/times will be determined by coaches. We are planning on an 8 game season depending on weather and field availability. Any games cancelled due to weather will be attempted to be made up. Make up games may be scheduled during the week or on Sundays. 

What does the registration fee include? 

The registration fee includes; VASA registration, player insurance, $25 uniform top and socks if new player, and league/city fees. 

What will my player need for practice? 

Each player will need a size 3 soccer ball, soccer cleats (no metal cleats), shin guards, water bottle, and a great attitude. 

What are important game play rules to know? 

For all age divisions there will be no goalies and no score keeping. As a league our goals are to teach the rules of the game, the love of soccer, and to have fun. Coaches will act as “referees” during the game. Only coaches and/or designated team sideline parents will be permitted on player sidelines and field. 4U- Games will consist of (4) 6 minute quarters with a 5 minute half time and 2 minute water breaks in between each quarter. Games will played 3v3. No aggressive play will be tolerated. 5U and 6U- Games will consist of (4) 8 minute quarters with a 5 minute half time and 2 minute water break in between each quarter. Games will be played 4v4. No aggressive play will be tolerated.
