Black Friday Ironman Tournament - Annual 2025

When: Friday November 29, 2025

Time: 2 PM - 12 AM (Start and End time will depend on amount of teams)
Cost: $450 Per Team
Roster Size 4 Skaters + 1 Goalie

Game Format: 4v4 12 minute running time games

3 games guaranteed, top teams in each division will play for divisional championship. Food and beverages provided

Each division requires at least 3 teams in order to play. If not enough teams register for any particular division, your team will be given the choice to play in a similar skill division, or receive a refund. If a similar skill division is not available, a full refund will be given.

This a Draft League. There are no guarantees who you will or will not be playing with. UNLESS you are new to the league then we will pair you with a friend or family member.

This League is for Beginner and Lower Skilled players.

12/1/2025 - 2/23/2026 Games are currently scheduled for 8:45, 10:15, on Rink 2. if we get 6 teams a 3rd slot SHOULD be Available on Rink 1 around 9:30.

Joining is easy, there is no complicated registration process, just fill out the form and we will contact you. We don't expect you to reach a certain "level" before you can ref our games. You will start making money after the very first game you ref.

We provide training and mentorship and will reimburse the cost of your AAU On-Ice Officials Membership to ensure you are covered in case of injury. If you are already a player in our league, no additional AAU membership is needed so you are already covered! There is no association you are forced to pay dues to, and you are guaranteed a raise for every year of service.

The WVIHL has joined the Amateur Athletic Union (AAU)

What is the AAU?

"A non-profit organization that promotes amateur sports and physical fitness programs for people of all ages. The AAU was founded in 1888 by James E. Sullivan at the New York Athletic Club to establish standards and uniformity in amateur sports. The AAU's mission is to promote good sportsmanship and citizenship, and to offer opportunities for athletes and volunteers to develop to their highest level. The AAU has over 900,000 members and 100,000 volunteers nationwide, and offers programs in over 50 sports."

As a non-profit sports club, The WVIHL feels that the AAU more directly aligns with our philosophy of prioritizing FUN without losing sight of COMPETITIVENESS. Joining the AAU gives us the ability to control all aspects of our league, from the players and teams, to the on and off ice officials. We get more control while still ensuring our athletes and officials are covered with supplemental insurance in case of injury.

Our athletes yearly AAU membership is INCLUDED in their league membership. No more paying out of pocket and going through the hassle of remembering to renew every year. Every WVIHL season that starts after September 1 will renew your AAU membership as part of your WVIHL league registration.
