Game Day Tips for Football Parents:

1. Plan Ahead for Smooth Mornings

Double-check gear the night before (pads, cleats, jersey, mouthguard, water bottle). Pack extra socks, tape, and snacks — because “forgotten” items are a game day classic. Know your route and parking options to avoid last-minute stress.

 2. Fuel & Hydrate Early

Give your player a balanced breakfast — protein + carbs (like eggs & toast or oatmeal & fruit). Encourage water intake before arriving; staying hydrated starts hours before kickoff.

 3. Encourage, Don’t Coach

Pre-game pep talk: Keep it positive and simple. (“Play hard, have fun, be a great teammate.”) Leave technical coaching to the coaches — your role is emotional support.

 4. Be the Role Model in the Stands

Cheer for great effort and good sportsmanship, no matter the team. Avoid yelling at refs, coaches, or opposing players. Keep sideline chatter positive — your player hears your voice more than you think.

 5. Bring the Essentials

Bleacher chair and water bottle. Weather gear (umbrella, poncho, sunscreen, layers).

 6. Stay After for Team Spirit

Win or lose, greet your player with pride in their effort, not the scoreboard. Offer a smile, not a breakdown of mistakes. Celebrate team moments — not just personal stats.

 7. Be Ready for Recovery

Hydration and a post-game snack (protein bar, fruit, chocolate milk). Rest time — both mental and physical — after an intense game. Gentle reminders about homework, chores, and showers before post-game fatigue wins.
