St Clement Baseball/Softball Skills development program (aka T-ball) is for our Pre-K and Kindergarten grades. Two sessions on Saturday mornings, one for Pre-K kids and another for K (unless numbers drive the need for additional sessions). Both about an hour long.
** If there is enough interest by players and coaches, the new CYC regional organization may provide an option for an actual Kindergarten team(s) that would travel and play other parish teams across West, North county, and/or into St Charles County. Signify your interest in the comments of your registration, and if enough sign up a new team will be created for that purpose. Please contact either of us directly (email) if interested and would like to take on a coaching position. **

2026 St Joseph-Manchester Chess - Winter 2026
The CYC Chess Program runs November-February. The program consists of weekly practices and four official meets. Practices this year will be held Mondays 6-8 pm at St. Joe Manchester. Meets are on Saturdays at local parishes where kids are paired with players their age and play 4 matches. The participant will get rated and as they progress through the program, they will be paired with other participants with similar ratings. This helps make the program more fun for everyone involved.
Generally speaking, it is good if the participant knows the basics of chess. The different pieces, how they can move, what is check vs checkmate. The chess skills vary though where some kids are learning basic strategies while others are more advanced. We work on different strategies during practices. There are also some great online programs too to help advance someone's skill.
Another great resource is the Chess Club of St Louis. Depending on your participants' level of interest, they do offer memberships and classes.
The cost for the CYC chess program this year is $75. There will be an optional pullover for another ~$40.

For the last 2 years kids from St. Monica and Incarnate Word played lacrosse in St. Louis Youth Lacrosse Association known as SLYLA. Under SM banner the two parishes sponsored a Y12 Boys’ team, Y12 Girls’ team and Y14 Girls’ team. The Y14 Girls’ team was comprised of all 8th grade students mainly from IW. The Y14 Girls’ team went undefeated by winning the championship game against MICDS. IW/SM is looking to rebuild and keep parish sponsor lacrosse alive in West County. The program is offered to 5th and 6th grade for both boys and girls plus 7th and 8th grade girls. The program will accept 4th graders girls after discussion with the parents.
SM has lacrosse equipment that can be rented for a very nominal fee.
Last Year SLYLA games were played at Chesterfield Valley Athletic Complex (CVAC), Y12 boys and Y12 girls played on Saturday and Y14 girls played on Sunday. The girls practice on Wednesday evening and Boys on Thursday at Saint Monica.
IW/SM will pay for all USA Lacrosse registration fee for non-club lacrosse players.
