Youth Beach Volleyball Program – FAQ

General Questions 

Q: What ages does the program serve?

A: Our program is open to youth/juniors ages 6–18. 

Q: Do I need previous volleyball experience to join? 

A: Not at all! We offer programs for all skill levels, from beginners to advanced players. 

Q: Where is the program located? 

A: Training sessions at 11 Marin Blvd, Jersey City, NJ 07302. 

Q: How do I register for the program? 

A: Registration can be completed online through our website or by contacting us directly via email or phone. 

Q: Can I join in the middle of the season? 

A: Yes! We accept mid-season enrollments if space is available. Fees will be prorated based on the start date.

Training Programs 

Q: How do I know which training program is right for me?
A: Choose based on your experience: 

  • Intro: For beginners or players new to volleyball/beach volleyball ages 6-12 
  • Developmental: For players with 1–3 years of experience in volleyball or basic beach volleyball knowledge ages 10-17 
  • Competitive: For advanced players with 3–5 years of experience, ready for a deeper focus on strategy and competition ages 12-18 (tryout is required) 
Q: Are tournaments included in the program? 
A: Tournament participation is available for Developmental and Competitive groups. Tournaments are optional, but recommended. Tournament coaching is included for players competing in selected events throughout the competition season.

Schedule & Logistics

Q: What is the schedule for training sessions? 

A: 

  • Seasonal Training (June–September): 
    • Intro: Monday and Wednesday, 4–5 PM (ages 6-8) and 5-6 PM (ages 9-12) 
    • Development: Tuesday and Thursday, 4-5:30 PM (ages 10-17) 
    • Competitive: Tuesday and Thursday, 3:30–5:30 PM (ages 12-18) 
  • Summer Camp (July–August): 
    • All Levels: Monday–Friday, 10:00 AM–1:00 PM (ages 10-16) 
Q: What should I bring to each session? 

A: Athletes should bring water, gatorade (or equivalent), sunscreen, sun glasses (if desired), a hat or visor, a towel, a light snack (cereal bars, fruits, etc), appropriate athletic clothing, a change of clothes, and sand-sock (if desired). 

Q: Is transportation provided? 

A: Transportation is not provided. Families are responsible for arranging drop-off and pick-up.

Additional Offerings

Q: What is mindset training? 

A: Mindset training focuses on mental skills like leadership, goal-setting, and resilience. Sessions are available in-person or via video for individuals or groups. 

Q: How does video analysis work? 

A: We review practice or game footage to provide detailed feedback on technique, strategy, and areas for improvement. Statistical analysis is also available.

Q: Do you offer private lessons? 

A: Yes! Private sessions are available upon request for personalized coaching.

Health & Safety 

Q: What measures are in place to ensure safety? 

A: We provide a safe, supervised environment and follow all relevant health guidelines. Injury prevention education is part of our program.

Recruiting 

Q: How do you support athletes interested in playing in college? 

A: We provide recruiting mentorship, guidance on the process, and tools to help players showcase their skills to collegiate programs.

Miscellaneous 

Q: Are parents allowed to watch training sessions? 

A: Yes, parents are welcome to observe from designated areas to avoid disrupting practice. 

Q: Can I switch programs if my skills improve? 

A: Absolutely! Players can move between programs based on skill progression, with coach approval. 

Q: What happens if a session is canceled? 

A: Make-up options will be available.
