Summer Camp 2025 - Summer 2025

Poynette Parks and Recreation is excited to offer YEAR 3 of summer day camps for children aged 7 to 12.  For those aged 13 and older, we provide the opportunity to become Counselors in Training (CIT). In this role, they will assist our counselors in conducting activities and may even have the chance to lead some activities themselves.

Camp will be from 7/14/2025 - 8/21/2025 Monday through Thursday from 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM with extended care options for parents who need extra time. This service is available from 7:30 AM to 8:30 AM in the morning and from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM in the afternoon.


Summer Day Camp General Schedule and Weekly Themes

Every day during a week of Day Camp, campers will enjoy mostly outdoor fun, rain, or shine! Daily activities will relate to our weekly theme and will include walks, crafts, games, and other meaningful and engaging activities. Campers should bring snacks and a lunch daily. Our program will offer several field trips, including transportation via school bus or walking.

  • What if there is bad weather?: Camp will happen rain or shine. If it is raining or there is inclement weather, we will have camp at Village Hall in the Civic Hall. Make sure you sign up for text and email notifications.

  • What is a Counselor In Training (CIT)?: At summer camp, campers have the exciting opportunity to join a special program where they can help out our amazing camp counselors! While having fun, they’ll gain valuable hands-on experience, develop leadership skills, and get ready for the day when they can become counselors themselves. It's a wonderful chance to learn and grow while making new friends!
  • Who can become a Counselor In Training?: Campers who are at least 13 years old by the start of camp.
  • What are the benefits of being a CIT?: Being a Counselor-in-Training (CIT) offers a valuable opportunity to learn what it's like to be a camp counselor. CITs assist with various activities, receive a 50% discount on camp registration, and have the chance to lead the camp for an entire day during week 6, where they can plan all the day's activities. Plus, they will receive a cool CIT camp shirt!
