Presentational Collegiate Athlete Summer Program visual

Collegiate Athlete Summer Program - Summer 2025

Restricted to undergraduate rowers/coxswains on summer break from a collegiate rowing program

River City Rowing Club welcomes collegiate rowers and coxswains to train with an RCRC Masters Team, under the supervision of the coach. Prior to registering contact info@rivercityrowing.org to coordinate the appropriate team to train with. Please share your rowing background including: your skill level with sweep, sculling, and/or coxing; how long you've been rowing/coxing; your collegiate team.

Based on your skill and experience level, RCRC will match you with one of the Masters Teams and you may train with that team as frequently as fits your schedule. Teams train 3-4 days per week.

Boathouse/Equipment access: collegiate members are welcome to use club ergs and weight equipment when the boathouse is open for other programs, as long as they yield equipment use to the practicing group. However, collegiate members may not row independently or use the docks to launch any watercraft (even personal boats) outside of practices with their masters team.

Presentational Private/Small Group Lessons visual

Private/Small Group Lessons - Annual 2025

Up to four participants, any ages and experience levels

Whether you want a few private lessons to focus on a specific technical element, have a small group of friends seeking a fun new experience, or just prefer working one-on-one, private rowing coaching is available. RCRC has several coaches who are approved to provide individual or small group (up to 4 participants) coaching for club members and community members of all skill levels. Currently our coaches have infrequent availability for private lessons; if you are new to rowing, we HIGHLY recommend signing up for a Learn to Row class, over trying to schedule private lessons.

Setting up a Lesson

  • Community members: first submit a Private Lesson Request/Information form. A coach will contact you to schedule a lesson when they have availability. Please do not register and pay for a lesson until you have a lesson scheduled.
  • RCRC members: to schedule a lesson, directly email the coach you want to work with, then pay for your lesson by clicking below.

Rates

  • General Community, up to four participants: $65 per hour
  • RCRC Members: apply the membership code to receive the member rate. Email asstdirector@rivercityrowing.org if you need the code.

Presentational Juniors Pre-Season Training Camp visual

Juniors Pre-Season Training Camp - Summer 2025

Competitive Rowers and Coxswains, 8th - 12th grades

Get ready for the new season!

River City Rowing Club will offer a 4-week "Pre-Season Summer Training Camp" available to returning RCRC juniors, as well as any interested juniors from other programs.  This also includes juniors who have graduated high school, and are preparing for their first year of college.

With a rotation of coaches so you can hear concepts discussed in new ways, we will explain how to build a strong base fitness and hone your rowing technique through training in small boats (1x, 2x, 2-), and occasionally big boats (4+, 4x, 8+).  This is also a great time for learning new drills, new training methods and asking questions of interest.

This camp gets you on the water if you want to get out there and prep for next season.  It's also meant to be fun, a chance to train with friends, and to row a variety of line-ups.

Crucial/key info:

  • Dates: July 28th - August 21st
  • Practice Schedule: MWTh, 5:00 pm - 7:15 pm
  • Attendance is expected but we understand you may have other summer plans; if you have to miss a practice, you DO need to remove your name from the next day's attendance by letting the coach directly know.
