Junior Rowing Team - Annual 2025

Competitive team for grades 8* - 12

Welcome to the 2025-2026 Junior Rowing Team

Returning athletes: register for a varsity team by 8/28/2025. You will be prompted to select a payment plan; these are listed in the FAQ section below (click 'More Info' if you do not see FAQ). Review the Refund and Fundraising policies plus Junior Team Handbook.

New athletes: register for the Two Week Trial. Join practice for two weeks anytime Sept - Feb; try the sport, talk to the coach, and meet your teammates, before deciding if you're ready to keep rowing. Complete two items before your first day:

1. Submit the Interest Form  (if you have not yet done so).

2. Click the 'Register' button below and select to register for the Two Week Trial.

All parents: join the Pre-Season Team Meeting Tuesday, August 26 at 5:30 p.m. at the RCRC Boathouse.

 *Coaches evaluate 8th graders for maturity and athletic ability before accepting them onto the team. Athletes not ready for the competitive team may be able to join the non-competitive Middle School Rowing Team

  • Installment Plan #1:: $250 deposit due by Sept. 1, 2025, with balance due on 10/1/2025.
  • Installment Plan #2: $250 deposit due by Sept. 1, 2025, and then 3 monthly installments paid upon: 10/1/2025, 12/1/2025 and 2/1/2026.
  • Early Season Drop Date: 9/30/2025: If your athlete decides to drop for any reason, they must do so by 9/30/2025. Notify/email Bob Maclean (asstdirector@rivercityrowing.org) to cancel remaining installments. After 9/30/2025 dues commitments are non-refundable.
  • Program Costs - Scholarships: RCRC offers scholarships based on financial need. Please use the application at the bottom of the Junior Team webpage: rivercityrowing.org/juniors-rowing Questions? Email treasurer@rivercityrowing.org
  • Program Costs - Fundraising Commitment: In addition to season dues, all athletes are committed to fundraising $300 ($150 if joining in Dec. or later) through team fundraisers, or personally donating to make up the difference.
  • Program Costs - Racing Uniform: All athletes will need a racing uniform. Uniforms last multiple seasons. A new uniform costs $80-$100. Alternatively, athletes may borrow a uniform from RCRC. No other gear is required.
  • Program Costs - Athlete Travel Fee: Athletes chosen for a select regatta to which the majority of the team does not travel pay a fee to cover travel expenses. Typically this only applies to varsity athletes, maximum 3 events annually.
