A Social Mahjong Event to Kick Off the Dogwood Festival

Grab your card, gather your friends, and join us for a relaxed and fun morning of Mahjong in the Hills! Whether you’re a seasoned player or just love the game and the community around it, this social play event is all about great company, good vibes, and celebrating the start of the Dogwood Festival.

What to Know Before You Play

• Players must bring their 2025 American Mahjong League card
• This is a social play event—no pressure, just fun
• Table rules are up to you! Each table decides how they want to play
• Mahjong sets provided for single players
• Tables must bring their own Mahjong sets

• All About Mahjong will be on hand to oversee play and happily answer questions
• Enjoy light bites, swag bags, door prizes, and winner prizes
• Expect lots of giveaways throughout the event—because who doesn’t love a prize?

Registration Options

• $50 per single player
• $175 for a table of 4

(Group must provide a tile set and mat)

• Need Name and Email, names of all 4 players for table option
• Table of 4 must provide their own tile set and mat

Important Notes

• We will be using American Mahjong League cards
• Participants must bring their own 2025 card
• A limited number of extra cards will be available on-site if needed

1Rebel Summer Sports Camp - Summer 2026

The Vestavia Hills Parks and Leisure Services will partner with VHHS to hold athletic camps during the Summer of 2026.

The following camps will be offered (all grades for the Fall of 2026):

Baseball* June 1 - 4 (1st - 5th grade)

Basketball(B) June 1 - 3 (6th - 8th grade) and June 22 - 25 (1st - 5th grade)

Boys Soccer** June 8 - 12 (1st - 8th grade) and June 15 - 19 (1st - 8th grade)

Flag Football*** June 9 - 11 (1st - 8th grade)

Basketball(G) June 16 - 18 (1st - 8th grade)

Girls Soccer ** June 16 - 19 (1st - 6th grade)

Football June 23 - 25 (7th - 9th grade) and July 27 - 29 (1st - 6th grade)

Volleyball July 7 - 9 (2nd - 8th grade)

All participants will receive additional information, via email, the Sunday prior to the start of camp.

* Check in at baseball field at 7:45 am.  Bring glove, bat, tennis shoes, cleats, water bottle and sunscreen.

** Check in at VHHS stadium at 8:45 am. Bring tennis shoes, cleats, soccer ball, water bottle, sunscreen and a packed lunch.

Adult Basketball Spring League - Spring 2026

Adult Basketball League

• Game Play: Monday and Wednesday Leagues. Monday is Recreational and Wednesday is Competitive. 9 Games with Upper and lower seed playoffs. League and Captains meeting Feb 17th 6:30pm at the Vestavia Hills Civic Center.

• Start Date: Week of February 23rd 

   

• Cost: League fees will be $600 per team. Registration is January 6th- February 14th

Adult Soccer Spring League - Spring 2026

Spring 11v11 Adult Soccer League 

We will offer 3 Divisions with the possibility of Divisions 2 and 3 combining if necessary. 

Games start 2/22 and will be played on Sunday's at Sicard Hollow Athletic Complex in Liberty Park.

Adult Co-ed Intermediate 

This program is designed for beginning Adults. It is ideal for those with limited match experience. The program emphasizes technique and strategy through engaging drills and match play. Participants will be grouped based on their skill levels.

All clinics will be held at the Wald Park Tennis Courts in Vestavia Hills with coaches from Birmingham Tennis Academy leading the program. 

If you would like to work multiple times during a single week, you must sign up for each offering.

Please register for the day(s) and time(s) you would like to participate.

Offerings ($172.50):

Monday 10:00 am - 11:00 am 

Wednesday 7:30 am - 8:30 am 

Wednesday 9:30 am - 10:30 am

The Orange Ball Program - Ages 8-10
This program is designed for children under the age of 11 who have had an introduction to the sport of tennis. It aims to guide students into competitive tennis by continuing to develop their fundamental skills while introducing them to match play.

All clinics will be held at WALD PARK TENNIS COURTS in Vestavia Hills and taught by The Birmingham Tennis Academy

Thursday 5:00 pm - 5:45 pm

The Red Ball Program - Ages 5-8

This program is designed to provide a fun introduction to tennis for children ages 5 to 8. It will focus on developing hand-eye coordination, agility, and the fundamental skills of tennis.

All sessions will be held at WALD PARK TENNIS COURTS  in Vestavia Hills and taught by The Birmingham Tennis Academy.

You must register for the day(s) and time(s) you would like to participate.
