NRPA/ESPN Coaching Grant Awarded!
The City of West Palm Beach has been selected by the National Recreation and Park Association and ESPN to join the Take Back Sports movement, a nationwide initiative focused on increasing youth sports participation and making sports more enjoyable for kids.
As part of this effort, the city’s Department of Parks and Recreation will receive a grant to help train coaches, staff, and volunteers in supporting positive youth development, addressing declining participation, and creating a fun, inclusive environment.
Through the program, the city will also gain access to free training from the Positive Coaching Alliance, equipping leaders with tools to help young athletes build teamwork, handle success and failure, and develop life skills.
