Spring 2025 Youth Baseball, Softball, and T-Ball Leagues

Registration opens February 1, 2025 for boys ages 5-17 and girls ages 5-16. Join us for skill-building, teamwork, and fun!

League Age: Determined by the participant’s age as of April 30, 2025. New participants must provide a birth certificate at registration to confirm age.

Limited Spaces: Each age group has limited spots available. Once an age group reaches capacity, a waitlist will begin. Note: League/age assignments are strictly based on age, with no exceptions.

Participant Fees:

  • Town of Wake Forest Residents: $60, registration opens February 1
  • Non-Residents: $100, registration opens February 8
  • Residency is determined by the participant’s home address within Town limits.

Team Placement: Siblings in the same age group will be placed on the same team, but requests for specific teams, players, or coaches cannot be accommodated.

Practice & Game Schedule:

  • Practices: 1-2 times per week, with 5-7 sessions.
  • Games: 8-10 game season (depending on field space and the number of teams), with a tournament for ages 10U and up (tball & rookie league - regular season only)

  • Season Duration:

    • Evaluations: Mid/late March (no evaluations for tball & rookie leagues)
    • Practices: Late March through April
    • Games: April through June (with potential to extend into late June if necessary)

Volunteer Coaching Opportunities: Interested in coaching? Register your child first, then signup online to volunteer. Each team may have up to 1 head coach and 2 assistants.

Requirements for Coaches (after being selected):

  • Complete a background screening before the first practice
  • Complete NAYS Coaches Training before the first game
  • Coaching spots are limited and may reach capacity

Frequently Asked Questions
  • What is provided (uniforms) for players?: Players will be provided a cap/visor and team jersey.
  • What equipment is required?: BASEBALL/T-BALL: Baseball Glove, Batting Helmet, Bat, Grey Pants SOFTBALL: Softball Glove, Batting Helmet (face guard required), Bat, Grey Pants (or black shorts)
  • What are the baseball bat rules?: 12 and under- bats must meet the USABat standards. 13 and above - bats must meet current NCHSAA requirements (BBCOR).
  • Are cleats required?: No, but if players choose to wear cleats, ages 12 and under must use rubber/molded cleats. Players age 13 and above may use either rubber/molded cleats or metal spikes.
  • When do practices start?: Practices will begin within 1 week of team placement event/coach meeting. Players will be notified via TeamSideline (email) regarding the team's first practice.
  • How many practices/games per week?: Typical schedule has 2 practices/week prior to games beginning, then games replace practices.
  • What are the practice/game days?: Practice/game days will vary, based on the age group and field availability. Schedules aren't set until registration is concluded.
  • Can we request to "play up?": No. League assignments are made based solely on league age.
  • Are team placement requests allowed?: No. Siblings in the same age group/league will be placed together, but requests for placement with a particular player (or coach) are not allowed.
  • When are the team placement events?: Team placement events ("drafts") will be held according to the schedule that was included in the registration receipt email. NOTE: T-Ball and Rookie League players will NOT have team placement event
  • How do I volunteer to coach?: ENROLL the parent volunteer into the program that they would like to volunteer in (prior to "checkout").
