WEATHER GUIDELINE
The Maricopa Recreation Department will consider canceling or modifying activities if any of the following conditions are met:
Severe weather warnings (e.g., thunderstorms, lightning, heavy rain, extreme temperatures) are issued by relevant authorities.
Lightning closer than 10 miles away will cause immediate closure.
Conditions pose a significant risk to the health and safety of participants, coaches, or spectators.
Play could cause damage to the fields.
Cancellation Communication:
Cancellations or modifications due to adverse weather conditions will be communicated promptly to coaches and parents via announcements and email
through Team Sideline

In the absence of a designated authority, coaches are given the authority to cancel practice due to severe weather, but must notify City staff and ensure each
player's parent is notified.
Coaches should not cancel games unless directed by staff.
Cancelled games and practices due to weather will not be guaranteed to be rescheduled.
