What is Pinto 8U
Pinto 8U Baseball is designed to help young players (ages 7–8) transition from tee-ball into a more advanced, development-focused version of the game. The division introduces faster play, defensive awareness, real in-game decision-making, and early competitive elements while keeping instruction, development, and fun as the top priorities
Philosophy / Approach
Focuses on skill progression: hitting live pitches, making throws, learning field positions, and understanding game situations.
Coaches emphasize teaching over winning consistent reps and positive instruction drive development.
Players rotate positions to build versatility and confidence.
Game Format
Pinto uses coach pitch promoting consistent hitting opportunities.
Outs are recorded and innings end traditionally (3 outs or 5 run limits).
Kids learn force plays, tagging situations, base running rules, and defensive teamwork.
Field & Game Specifications
Base paths: 60 ft.
Pitching distance: 40 feet.
Outfield home-run distance (if used): 150–200 ft, or a marked home-run line
Gameplay Highlights
No leading off; base stealing rules vary but are typically limited to maintain control and safety.
