What is Bronco 12U Softball

Bronco 12U Softball is geared toward athletes ages 11–12 who are ready for higher-level fast-pitch or slow-pitch play. This division uses near-regulation softball dimensions and incorporates full competitive rules, making it a significant step toward middle school and competitive travel ball. Players at this level refine mechanics, learn more complex strategy, and compete with greater speed and intensity.

Field & Game Specifications

Base paths: 60 feet 

Pitching distance: Fast-pitch: 40 feet Slow-pitch: 46 feet 

Outfield fence/home-run line: Typically 175–200 feet 

Standard bases, pitching rubber, and home plate per PONY Softball rules

Game Play & Rules Highlights

Full player-pitch softball 

Drop-third-strike (league-dependent), infield fly, and other advanced rules may apply 

Base stealing allowed in fast-pitch 

Pitchers begin using more advanced pitches, control, and speed 

Teams use strategic defensive alignments, bunting, slap-hitting, and aggressive baserunning
